Steve Judd I am a 43-soon to be 44 veteran weekend warrior. Having tried and enjoyed marathons and then triathlons culminating in an Ironman finishing time of 13hrs 12mins I was looking for a new challenge without all the technology, kit and costs of triathlons.
Ultra marathons (the more remote and extreme the better) feels like I have come home. It’s the ultimate in physical endurance stripped bare. It’s just you, a pair of trainers and the mountains. I was very disappointed at having to drop out at Glencoe in 2011 but stress fractures in my feet caused by a last minute change of shoes (stupid, foreseeable and very painful mistake on my part) prevented me finishing.
For 2012 I will be running for Motor Neurones Disease
Association too add a little more pressure and incentive to finish for
2012. Broken bones or not this time!
