I will be 50 years old this year and, along with Steve Briggs who was born in the same year, plan to mark this threshold by completing the WHW race.  Even though I have completed 110 marathons and ultras to date, I have never attempted anything like this ... and do admit to feeling intimidated.  

My worries are intensified by the fact I am a Scottish expat living in The Netherlands - not exactly the hilliest of countries.  I plan to use trips home to get out on the hills and the actual WHW.

Both my brothers are "Munro completers", so know all the hilly bits I have to run very well, and have agreed to act as my support crew.  One way or another, I will be there at the end, probably with Steve waiting on me.
