I started running in my early 40's and ran my first WHW race in 2005.  It didn't go according to plan with a knee problem forcing me to hobble for many miles.  I had high hopes for a good run in 2006 but a training injury prevented me reaching the start line.

Driven by frustration I decided to run it anyway later in the year and ended up running the WHW on the 22nd of December with a friend.  An amazing experience but not one I'm in a hurry to repeat!

2007 was another "DNS" thanks to injury but in 2008 things came together I had a good run finishing in 22:58.  I had another reasonable good run in 2010 (23:06) but I still feel that I can improve on my 2008 time.

If I can avoid training injuries, I'm hopeful for a PB in 2012.  Ultimate goal is to reach Fort William before the pubs shut!
