Stephen Cotterill I first walked the West Highland Way in 1982 when the 95 mile walk was still in its infancy. After a gap of Twenty nine years and approaching my 50th birthday I had the romantic idea of completing the route again and I ran/walked the distance in twenty five hours over two days.
Celebrating in the Nevis Inn Hotel I was told about the 2011 WHW race which had just taken place the week before. I was hooked straight away and promised myself that I would gain a place in the 2012 starting line-up.
A member of the Staffordshire Long Distance Walkers Association for the past 15 years and ultra runner for the last five, my goal is to complete the race in one piece and my dream is to come in under 24 hours. Best wishes with your training and see you all on 23rd June.
