Incidentally, yesterday I received a weather update

Crumbs! It looks pretty horrific for Saturday, the main day of the UTMB race. 8 degrees C @ 1,000m altitude Chamonix. What will it be like @ the 2,500m high points on the course? May need the back-up clothing after all.

No doubt there will be many more weather updates, watched with great interest, over the next few days.

Well, at the WHW this year most people said they preferred a bit of rain to sunshine........think I'll have to pack my hat to be on the safe side.
